As we make our way through the remainder of a challenging, almost apocalyptic year, we reminisce on all that 2020 has thrown at us and continues to throw at us.
For our very first CoreSpotlight, we talked to the brilliant and accomplished, Jennean Veale, Realtor/ Sales Associate with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors about her experience with closings during Covid and the whirlwind of emotions she dealt with not being able to be with her clients during settlement for the first time in her career.

“The one closing during Covid that particularly stands out to me because this is a first time homebuyer couple…. very excited! As all know, in a “normal world” pre-Covid that is, we would all be at the closing table together: the buyers mortgage representative to go over documents with them as they’re signing, the sellers and sellers realtor, as well as myself/the buyers realtor, and our CoreTitle closer,” Veale says.

Being able to sit with her clients, especially first time homebuyers has always been something that has been important to her incase any questions arise, any issues come up and simply to just comfort them through one of the largest transactions of their lives.

Limiting attendance and keeping traffic in the office light was of the utmost importance. All non-essential signers were to wait outside in their cars and sellers were required to schedule to sign separately from the buyers.

“We are all there with the answers to anything that could come up, and to work it out quickly. But during the shut-down period, we were lucky to even be able to continue getting our buyers and sellers to closing,” Veale continues.

“During this time I considered myself so incredibly fortunate to bring my Buyers to CoreTitle and deliver them safely to a warm and friendly Closer, drop off all the necessary documents they may need and be available by phone if there were any questions. Especially to a first time Buyer, this might feel uncomfortable…but my clients knew they were in great hands! Melissa kept me updated and let me know everything was going well, the buyers were very happy, and I couldn’t ask for anything more,” Veale says.
